Fundamentals of GD&T (based on ISO standards)

This course provides information on ISO 1101 Geometrical Product Specifications, related standards and their application to engineering drawings. Please find the link to the brochure here.

Knowledge and skills

The course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to:

  • recognise the ISO 1101 drawing practices and benefits of geometrical tolerancing
  • understand key geometrical tolerancing concepts
  • interpret datum reference frame and select datum features
  • know symbols and how to apply them to drawings

Fundamentals of GD&T (based on ASME Y14.5-2009 standard)

This course is based on ASME Y14.5-2009 standard. You will learn about the symbols, modifiers, rules and concepts of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Please find the link to the brochure here.

Knowledge and skills

The course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to:

  • understand the benefits of geometric tolerancing
  • know GD&T symbols and how to apply them to drawing
  • interpret datum reference frame and select datum features
  • recognise when a specification is incomplete or incorrect

ONLINE session times (delivered over 2 days, 2 sessions per day):

Session 1: 09:00-12:30, session 2: 13:00-16:30
